Inner Office Political Banter

29 08 2008

Our firm took over another firm a while back. So just this week the “other” brokers joined our office. Our culture is very laid back and as a whole our office isn’t very politically correct. However, this new group is a bit uppity and very PC.

Here’s the break down of our inner office email about McCain’s new running mate:

Our Broker 1
(Old guy whose die hard Democrat…I personally can’t stand this particular employee): The oldest first term candidate of a major party in American history. And a toast to his newly announced running mate, Sarah Palin, who less than three years ago was mayor of a small town in Alaska, and now, possibly one heartbeat from the presidency. That certainly reaffirms our faith in America–that any child can grow up to be President–or Vice President.

Our Broker 2
(Great guy w/ an obvious sense of humor) An important improvement of McCain-Palin over Bush-Cheney is that Palin is a better shot than is Cheney.

Managements Response
(Note before the pain in the ass crew joined our firm he would have never sent out an email like this…I guarantee a Broker from the “other” firm emailed the manager to complain!)
Please refrain from broadcasting political opinions to the entire office. HR policy dictates restraint.

Our Broker 3 (And last but not least one of our youngest brokers who is SOOOOOOO not PC…and I love it!)

So…

Obama Biden= Presidential candidate, no experience with an experienced VP (a far less important position)
McCain Palin = Presidential candidate with experience teamed with an inexperienced VP (that’s a hottie,,not to mention Cindy Mac)

Which combination would you want?? A great speaker that’s done nothing with a VP with great experience stuck in a position to do nothing? Or a President with total experience and hot VP with little experience, that’s broken some necks in corrupt Alaska in a limited slot? No brainer!!

Oh by the way, think about this combo…

S.Palin

Team Palin up with Cindy McCain:

Not to mention his Meghan Mac…

Enough said!!!

Woo…woo…you’ll understand after you watch this!

29 08 2008

This is a freak’n hillarious. I laughed so hard this morning. Thanks Susan for sending me this link! Guess I should be cooking breakfast this morning. No need for coffee waking me up…this whistles will do the trick. Thank god I’m in a gated community and this trend hasn’t jumped to the East Coast yet!

Sky Lounge To Host Bike & Car Show To Benefit the Districts Coalition for the Homeless

21 08 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Washington, DC (August 20th, 2008)Skye Lounge of Washington, DC’s financial district plans to host a “Bike & Car Show” fundraising event the evening of Saturday, September 6, 2008.  The charity chosen to benefit from dollars raised is the Coalition for the Homeless

Daniel Allen of co-owner of Skye, chose the Coalition for the Homeless because he has participated in homeless fundraisers in the past with St. Luke’s. “I know this is a major problem in the nation’s capital and it should not be.  The homeless population in Washington, DC is the greatest per capita of any city in the US.  Through Skye we have the opportunity to give back and hopefully help alleviate a growing issue in the city.”

The evening will showcase a myriad of exotic vehicles.  Guests are encouraged to bring their own bikes and motorcycles as well.  To accommodate the number of cars and bikes, from 6pm to 10pm, the city will close down blocks inclusive of 19th, 20th, and Eye Streets, NW specifically for this event.

Some of the exotic cars which will be featured include the Attack Roadster, Toyota Supra, Viper, Lamborghini Guilardo, Maserati, and the Drift Nissan 240.  Among the motorcycles are the R1 Yamaha, Hyabusa, Suzuki GSXR (models 600, 750 and 1000).

A $10 or $20 donation for the cause is suggested for attendees.  Skye will provide live music, a date auction, prizes and drink and food specials.  Reservations are only for those showcasing cars or bikes and admittance is first come first serve.

Red Bull, Grey Goose, Race Apeel , MischiefTV, Eurobeat , Atyer Service have signed on to be corporate sponsors of the benefit.

Please contact Lydia Arshadi for more information, media inquiries, and reservations at lydia@skyedc.com or 301.219.0277.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

19 08 2008

Woo hoo Ryan’s Two!!!  My favorite nephew just turned two today.  Knut and I shipped off a box with his gifts FED-Ex earlier this week so he should have got them by now.  We got him the Mr. Potato Head w/ a bunch of different custom kits (pirate, chef, doctor, etc.), several books, and some cute new outfits for the upcoming fall.

Lauren just had the family get some portraits done.  I’ve attached some of them.  You can click to enlarge them.  My favorite is the one shows Ryan w/ the beach in the background.
