KC of Salon X did an amazing job on my hair that night. It took me quite a while to deconstruct this look.

I’m In This Months Edition of the Washingtonian
29 10 2008Well…the November issue of the Washingtonian has officially hit the stands. I picked up my copy. I believe the LLS ad is on page 113 if I remember correctly. Here’s what it looks like.
The Washingtonian has offically signed up as a 2009 sponsor of the Man & Woman of The Year event again. Let me know if you have thoughts on someone who should be nominated as a candidate. We are still searching for a few great leads!

This Weekends Plans
29 10 2008This weekend should be loaded with lots of time with friends. Friday night I’ll come home and help pass out candy to the neighborhood kids who will be trick or treating. I’ve been invited to a private halloween party hosted at a local bar. I may go to that if I’m feeling up for it. If not I’ll curl up and watch some horror flicks that are sure to be on cable that night.
Saturday night my friends Kathy and Keith are hosting a Toga themed party. I have my greek goddess costume from last years Halloween. Yeah…I get a second use out of it. Kathy & Keith are just down the road from my neighborhood which is always a good thing! Abby and Keith will show up late to the party as they’ll be attending her sisters wedding in Richmond earlier in the evening. Congrats Star!!!! Should be a fun night…hope that hot tub is nice and warm!
Sunday I’ll be meeting my girlfriends Karen & Mary for brunch in Leesburg. I’ve pre-warned them I’ll be sporting a very hung over look. Hair tied back and no make up. It’s a half hour drive for me and they want to meet at 10am. Good lord…what I won’t do for good friends – LOL. I’m glad I’ll get to see them both however…it’s been too long since our last get together! Sunday evening will be spent at the Collins for dinner. They do “turkey” dinners often. It’s always nice to catch up with everyone over a great meal!
That pretty much sums up my weekend plans. Hope you all have an equally fabulous weekend to look forward to! Hell it’s only hump day and I can’t wait for the weekend to be here upon us!!!

Collins Halloween Party
26 10 2008Every year my neighbors the Collins host a Halloween Party. They always out do themselves with the decorations and Halloween themed food. The best part is I can drink all I want and stumble home. The worst part is always the hangover I know I’ll suffer the next day! I won this years costume contest and got a $25 gift card to Best Buy. Nate’s friend Becky won 2nd place. I voted for her. I loved her purple fairy costume…of course one of the guys thought her costume was a stripper. I’ll let you decide…must be the shoes or perhaps the false eyelashes.

Molly’s Pink Birthday Party
22 10 2008Here are some pictures from Molly’s Birthday Party which I missed. I bailed because I needed some down time. I totally regret it! Especially since Astrid surprised everyone by driving down from NYC. Check out Tracy’s new beau…they look so cute together! He’s even gotten her out rock climbing a few times of late! I’m impressed!!!

Calling All Candidates – 2009 Man & Woman of The Year
21 10 2008As many of you know I ran as a candidate in the 2008 LLS Woman of The Year. I committed to raise a minimum of $10K. I more than doubled that number during my campaign! It was a wonderful experience. I learned so much about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I know it might sound trite…but it truly changed my life! I’ve met some wonderful people through this experience.
The Society has asked that I return to the campaign in 2009 as a member of the LLS Leadership team. I’ll be assisting with mentoring future candidates. Do you know someone who is competitive, passionate about LLS or raising funds for a great cause, has a mission connection, driven, networker, involved in the community, leader at work, go-getter, SUPER Dynamic, Type-A, Personable, Determined, Young Up-and-Comer? We are currently searching for nominations for 2009. This could be a fantastic opportunity for your business and offers plenty of networking opportunities as well. During my campaign we were listed in several issues of the Washingtonian with our photos and the name of our businesses. If you or someone you know might be interested please let me know ASAP!
We already have four candidates lined up for the 2009 year! A big shout out to my girl Molly Marshall of EMC who has signed on as a candidate!!!!
