I’m so excited to check out the Farmers Market coming to Reston Town Center starting this May. It will be so nice to get off work and wander down to the market and find something fresh to prepare for dinner. Oh…I’m loving our move to Reston more and more every day!
Lowes Island is in a media frenzy at the moment as Trump has officially taken control of the country club. Last week Trump and his son Eric flew in to discuss all the upcoming changes they have in place for the club. He’s hired Tom Fazio to remake the two 18-hole championship course. The caddy program is coming back. He discussed plans to maintain a “family friendly” club. Expect to see a lot of exciting changes in the coming months. The quality of the food should quickly show improvement. Trump has already ordered a custom fleet of new golf carts which have arrived today. The pro shop is stocked with Trump goods. Trump has a vision to “be the finest club anywhere in the country”. Watch out Congressional…I think you’re going to have some stiff competition creeping up. Members dues are likely going to see a steep increase. However with the changes being made they certainly seems warranted.
Visit www.sweetcharity.org for more details. This event funds The Heart of America Foundation which helps provide under priviledged children gain access to books. It’s a top DC Charity event every year. You don’t want to miss this. It’s sure to be a fantastic evening out. And let’s face it…not many of us have a whole lot scheduled on Monday nights. So come on out and support a great cause! P.S….I’m so loving the art work for this invitation!
Here are some photos of Marc…from the very beginning to today. I so can’t believe he can drive now!!! Shocking to say the least.
So today I got an email from my friend Lisa Garrett. She’ll be turning 40 soon and wants us to celebrate with her by jumping out of a perfectly good airplane — tandem of course. There’s no way I’d even consider it otherwise!
I’m still trying to work up the courage to attempt this. However…Sky Diving is on my To Do List. I’ve had the itch ever since watching Richie’s video of his Sky Diving trip. Looks like the date is set for May 15th. The cost is $255 per person. Check out this website for more details: http://www.skydiveorange.com/
This years Shecky’s event was absolutely fabulous. I purchased a super comfy pair of heels from Deluca, several different rings from various vendors, an adorable coral bead bracelet, a solas handbag (crazy LED lighting…very va..va..vegas). Some how I missed the Tarte handbag holders. Abby found one. You can hook it on any table so your purse hangs there instead of having to put it on the floor. Note to self: Go find the Tarte website and track this gizmo down.
Above is a picture from Thursday night w/ my Aunt Michele, Kathy (cousin ford’s fiance), and all of Aunt Michele’s co-workers. I looked at the Saturday pics and it still hasn’t uploaded the picture w/ the 10 girls I went with then. I will say I prefered Thursday night for the sheer fact you had more choices to make. (Although the crowds weren’t as difficult to navigate on Saturday). I did notice that several vendors who had been there on Thursday were not at the event on Saturday. I was especially bummed about the cupcake vendor not being there. I wanted to buy some for Gold Cup this weekend. Oh well…looks like I’m making some from scratch.
Well ladies if you’ve missed this event please…please make sure you buy your tickets for the Fall October event. Tammy – don’t forget they have an event in Houston. Get your posse to get on it and head out to Houston for a weekend trip to Shecky’s. Seriously…you won’t be disappointed. Below are the dates for the rest of the year. Check it out – they might be in a city close to you!
